Kalyway 10.5.5 and iAtkos 10.5.5 Update Succeeded

Kalyway 10.5.5 and iatkos 10.5.5

Hari ini baru sempet buat download updatean Mac OS X 10.5.5, Karena keterbatasan bandwith dan kesibukan saya akhir2 ini. pada postingan yang lalu ukuran updateannya lumayan gede sekitar 300 MB sedangkan untuk combo updatenya hampir 700MB, saya paksain juga untuk download kedua-duanya karena sudah banyak yang tanya lewat email cara update ke 10.5.5 ini.

selesai download jam 2 an, langsung di coba, eh ternyata masih gampang buat update Kalyway 10.5.4 dan iAtkos v4i ke 10.5.5

Step by step Update kalyway 10.5.4 and iAtkos v4i to 10.5.5 : (English Version HERE)

- Download Mac OS X 10.5.5 dari website apple nya dulu, jangan memakai Software update.

- Kalau sudah beres download, jangan langsung Install.

- Buka terminal, ketik : “sudo su -” (without quote) lalu ketikan password.

- ketik lagi “while sleep 1 ; do rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext ; done” (without the quotes)

- biarkan terminal, jangan di tutup.

- Install Updatean Mac OS X 10.5.5 (delta) yg sudah kita download.

- Quit Terminal

- Reboot

- Lihat Hasilnya :D

Notes:

- Update jangan memakai software update

- Jangan coba2 memakai Mac OS X 10.5.5 Combo update

- Kalyway yang digunakan versi 10.5.4

- iAtkos yang digunakan iAtkos v4i (10.5.4 Intel Only)

- Untuk pengguna AMD silahkan update melalui software update buat AMD disini

    1. First, download the update directly from Apple’s website. You can grab 10.5.5 at http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/apple/macosx_updates/macosx1055update.html

    2. Before you run the downloaded file, open up Terminal and type “sudo su -” without the quotes. Enter your user password and then type “while sleep 1 ; do rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext ; done” without the quotes.

    3. Keep this window open while you run the downloaded update and install it

    4. Before you reboot, exit the Terminal script by holding down Ctrl and pressing X (Ctrl + X). Close Terminal and hit the button on the Update to reboot your computer.

    5 Done

    will not work!!!
    I made it as explained here.
    cant boot anymore.
    i tryed to boot
    withe -v = does not work!
    with -v -x = does not work!
    with update -v works but I get no access to finder uname -a say kernel 9.2 ???
    nice to share your experience but it did not work for me.
    beware!!

    tapi saya pakai ideneb v1.1 dan pake teknik melototin extensions folder trus hapus AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext begitu nongol…

    ya perintah “while sleep 1 ; do rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext ; done” itu untuk menghapus file tsb secara otomatis (netkats method)

    You can do this actually… its lots faster.

    Do your Time Machine backup on a volume.
    Clone your existing OSx86 partition onto another volume on the same harddisk of your existing OSx86 install using CCC or something like that. CCC will make that partition bootable.
    Boot to the CCC partition using the Darwin Bootloader of your existing install, and boot to the other partition that you have just cloned.
    Install the 10.5.5 update there, using the Terminal script and the things.
    Restart.

    If there are any problems, you can boot to the old one and it will still be fine. If the old one also crashes (which is very unlikely) you can restore your system using Time Machine. If you want to try again, erase the clone partition and clone existing install again and do everything again.
    This is the kind of Just In Case thing… HAHA

    (these steps look similar to NETKAS but that dude was telling something bout a folder called INSTALLATSTARTUP which was apparently missing in my install and i messed everything up and i had to reinstall all over again )

    Mr.3rr0rists aku punya satu lagi masalah aku punya usb wireless SMCWUSB-G 802.11g di leopard 10.5.5 pada more info terdeteksi USB2.0 WLAN tapi aku belum bisa settingnya gimana mas cara settingnya ??
    aku coba airport untuk scan access point ga terdeksi padahal ada hotspotnya.cara settingnya yang aku ga tau

    saya sudah instal iAtkos v 4i di laptop acer aspire 2920z dan semua lancar jaya.
    tapi setiap kali saya hidupin laptop selalu muncul instruksi ‘you need to restart your cumputer’.. begitu terus kira-kira 4 kali saya harus pencet tombol power untuk on-off baru bootnya normal. lama-lama cukup merepotkan juga. please help solusinya gimana.. thx sebelumnya

    This worked for me:

    1. Download and install IntelCPUPMDisabler.kext - here. (Restart)
    2. Download 10.5.5 Update - here.
    3. Open you terminal and type: sudo -s
    4. Enter your password and hit enter
    5. Type: while sleep 1; do rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext; done (hit Enter)
    6. Double click on 10.5.5 Update to initiate install. Follow through with installation. NOTE: When update installed you will be prompted to ‘Restart’. DO NOT restart yet.
    7. Go back to your Terminal window and close it.
    8. Re-open your Terminal again (make sure you are sudo -s) and type: nano /System/InstallAtStartup/scripts/1 (hit Enter)
    9. Find the line that says ‘Don’t Steal Mac OS X.kext and replace it with dsmos.kext (You might not have this in the script, i didn’t)
    10. Go back to 10.5.5 Update window and hit ‘Restart’
    11. Start from the Kalyway DVD and hit f8. boot with ‘rd=disk0s1 kernel vanilla update -v’. Half way through the booting process your computer will restart by itself - it’s ok. Start it again with ‘rd=disk0s1 kernel vanilla update -v’. (It should be able to boot ok this time)
    12. Reinstall needed kext while still logged in. (I did need it)
    13. Reboot

    gosh, this has got to be the 20th install… everytime I try to follow the instructions above (using iATKOS 4i OSX 10.5.4) to update to 10.5.5 … boots into a panic screen with big picture of power button and message telling me that I need to shut down. I tried to boot into the iATKOS Leopard DVD and repair permissions. Still does the same thing when I boot. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Will not boot with “update -v” either. Thanks in advance.

    3rrorists, Great work! Saya berhasil update. Setelah install saya masuk ke safe mode dan merubah dev ID sesuai iD hardware serta IOProbeScore menjadi 0 untuk NVDAResman.kext, NVDANV50Hal.kext dan NVinjectGo. Saya juga merubah VRAM totalsize menjadi 256Mb. Tanpa melakukan hal tsb saya hanya sampai ke layar abu-abu dengan logo Apple.

    Saya update ke 10.5.5 dan melakukan hal setelah install tsb agar QE/CI dapat berjalan. Sekarang ’semuanya’ berjalan baik kecuali QE/CI. Bagaimana agar QE/CI bisa berfungsi? Bantuannya sangat saya hargai.

    Lenovo Y530, core 2 duo P8600 @2,4GHz, 2GB RAM, 200GB HDD, NVidia GF9500M G 250Mb, Kalyway 10.5.5.

    Akhirnya QE/CI bisa bisa berfungsi dengan baik.

    Setelah install 10.5.5 masuk ke safe mode, install aquamac installer untuk update nvidia 9xxx series, install NVDarwin 1.2.5 dan ganti dev id sesuai dengan id hardware. Reboot dan sim salabin semua berfungsi dengan baik dan lebih cepat. Terima kasih 3rrorists! And thank to XDarwin and Aquamac!
